Advanced Electronic Signature (AES)
The de facto standard for legally binding agreements in Finland. Signers authenticate via Finnish Bank IDs, Mobile ID, or other Nordic-Baltic eIDs.
Simple Electronic Signature (SES)
Light authentication via SMS OTP, Email OTP, or drawn signature (InkSign). For lower-risk scenarios: internal approvals, delivery confirmations, B2C acknowledgments.
Qualified Electronic Signature (QES)
Highest assurance under EU eIDAS via Smart-ID or Finnish ID card. Equivalent to handwritten signature across all EU member states. For cross-border, regulated industries, and financial services.

Yes. The service supports Advanced Electronic Signatures (AES), Simple Electronic Signatures (SES), and Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) - all compliant with EU eIDAS Regulation. AES via Finnish Bank ID is the standard for most Nordic commercial contracts. QES via Smart-ID or Finnish ID card is available for situations requiring the highest legal assurance, such as cross-border agreements and regulated industries.
Unlike many consumer services, we operate strictly as the Data Processor acting on your instructions. You remain the Data Controller and retain full ownership of your customer data. We do not use your contract data for our own purposes.
Yes. All signed documents follow the PAdES standard. You can verify the signature, seal, and timestamp offline using Adobe Acrobat Reader, even if you stop using our service.
Yes. The Enterprise Tier provides full REST API access. You can trigger signing requests, manage workflows, and retrieve signed files programmatically. We also support Webhooks for real-time status updates.

No. Allekirjoitus.fi is a signing pipeline, not a permanent archive. Documents are retained for 90 days (configurable up to 365 days for Enterprise). You must transfer signed documents to your own storage or use our API to export them automatically.
The service is hosted on Microsoft Azure infrastructure located within the European Union, ensuring data residency compliance.
